Hip Hop: The Conspiracy Theory

The World is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil , but because of the people who don't do anything about it . -- Albert Einstein

Now before i say ANYTHING , i would like everyone to know this is PURE opinion...this is NOT the gospel..take it how you want it..or leave it..
N.W.O. -- The New World Order

i dont know how much of this stuff you guys are up on but i've been dabbling..in and out for years, and now i've come to the point where i honestly don't care anymore. not that i don't want to, but that i can't. This is some touchy shyt..and depending on how much you can take, i wouldn't advise you just jump headfirst into this kinda stuff.
Personally, i believe the conspiracy itself goes way deeper than just music, contrary to popular (and when i say popular, i do mean African American) belief.  I believe there are activities in which people in the highest positions of our hierarchy here in the U.S. cant control. Such as your beloved president Barack Onnaana (whats his name) ? I believe when it comes to these ppl (whom we will call "The McCain's" ) a president doesn't mean much more than one of the lil horse pieces on a chessboard..(Rook) People nowadays are only out to please themselves.. Where do you think we got that shyt from ? Throughout the decades the education and morality of the generations have been dwindling..And now it's almost near extinct. I've noticed now that alot of kids just (pardon my french) DONT GIVE A FUCK. Who's to blame ? Some say..the parents..some say TV..some say music.. Honestly i feel as if they're all correct. I feel that as a parent, there should be some sort of censorship in your house, at least until they reach a certain age. That way you are able to instill the correct morals and values into your children before the TV can begin to influence them. (TV is a whole nother' beast in itself). Even though, you can't be too hard on the parents because at some point, you're going to have to send your child out into this mess, but hopefully they will ahve enough common sense in them to not stray too far from their way..smh..im rambling.. anyway , regardless of who's to blame, the damage is done.// See music is at the purest form, just an art, a way of expressing. But what people dont quite understand is the power in words. Think about how many times you may have sat and listened to your favorite song and caught yourself rappin (or singing) along to what that artist may be saying. If you pay attention to it, it seems almost as if a chant.  So if you fill in some..ehh..rather violent lyrics into that blank space i've opened up in your mind.. such as a favorite line of mine from Boosie: "Murda , Murda , Murda, gotta keep my 9.." ..something real simple and yet when you chant this over and over (however many times you listen to this song) it seems to me as if that kinda shyt gets into your spirit and you can kinda feel a change in your mood/attitude. Doesn't this seem kinda weird? Would you believe me when i say that's all part of a plan? In a way, hip hop itself can almost be seen as a cult.. No that does not mean we're all a bunch of brainless followers , and no that doesn't make Lil' Wayne a modern day Charles Manson...Im just tryna get you to see the metaphor that alot of people might have missed...BUT, nonetheless..this is just part I. I will be posting a part II later, i just want you guys to sleep on that for a bit.. Just watch the kinda shyt you allow into your system..

Independant Artist(S)

"Never Complain to people around you , learn how to complain to yourself alone for you to visualize your mistakes" -- Monalisa Lopez

I think...there's alot to be said for some of the B.S. that's been floating on out here. First thing i would like to address is the (What seems to be) common misconception that for an independant artist to get radio play, there is payment to be made to radio personnel. Which may be true in larger more populated areas, but as far as home, Naaah. You couldnt be further from the truth. I say this because im also a victim of the same belief system , that nothing aorund here moves without the $$. When the truth is, the Djays and the radio personalities who work for these radio stations out here are ruthlessly seeking new talent to stand behind.  But it's the artist out here who aren't making the right moves to be represented.  Whether it be, your business isnt all the way together (copyrights , ownership of beats, licensing in general) , or the quality of your art isn't up to par, (meaning it isnt too easy on the ears) or shyt..you just plain suck. Whatever the case, what tends to happen is these artists will flood the radio station with track after track from what seems to be an endless reportoire (*spellcheck) of unmanageable music, And in turn when the radio doesnt play it, artist develop a nasty syndrome , which doesn't seem to have a cure..i call , Diarrhea of the mouth ! Time after time, i've been in a conversation with a fellow artist and the first thing they wanna do is blame the radio station for there shortcomings...and time after time i've sat and listened, and believed this garbage they spew and after awhile developed my own little attitude and beliefs toward this MONSTER of a radio station which we call "Foxy 99". How could such evil, such maltreatment go on in such a small town. Shouldnt we be helping eachother . ? Ignorance is said to be blissful..but in this case, its just, wrong. period. In my opinion music is a form of expression and though, (sometimes i may want to throw your cd out the window or burn down whatever establishment chose to accept your money in order for you to record this bullshyt) ,...ugh..i cant deny that as an artist you are free to express yourself however you like. All i ask is that you get all your ducks in a row before you hop out into that pond of "radio play" . Get your shyt copyrighted...save up and stock up on high level, high quality equipment..( or for studio time) ..Package your singles in something other than an envelop with the title of the track in Visa V. IRON your CLOTHES..and walk your music in there, with as much pride and conviction as if you were walking out of court, cleared of those marijuanna charges you picked up last week. Let's get this right right ppl. --D.P.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

"All The Way From" The ALBUM ...was cancelled until next year. (If anybody can get me some distribution for it, we'll be on nd poppin..100) BUT. In the meantime, ME and a couple labelmates are working on a project for the streets (lol doesnt that sound like what EVERY other RAPPER out here would say) called : "Three-Headed Monster" . Me, Dash (C-Port City) nd Star (BadNewz) have decided it would be extremely redundant to sit and let the flame die out at home, even though we've gotten to the point where the shows may range from here to Fla. or up top toward NJ, NY. I refuse to not remain relevant on the scene... in the meantime , click link and enjoy a couple of the tracks that didnt..quite..make the album (That didnt, quite..make it out the studio) hahaha

Showtime. Palms sweaty..again. Seems like everytime i walk into a a venue to perform i break into the same symptoms of nervousness. Although, i'd tell myself i wasnt nervous all day, i was. This was the moment i'd been waiting for all year. The bright lights..THe energy flowing through my fingertips as i grip the microphone, preaching my gospel to whoever wanted to listen.. The chance to go on in front of everyone in my town "Who matters" . Let alone most of the other performers in the competition had at least 5 years of age on me..I feel as if i had to do this for all the "Young uns" out there who hardly get ANY respect in such an industry as this , in North Carolina. I have a slight advantage though.. i have a song on the radio, so for the audience to recognize me by my music and be able to put the face to the song feels like a huge plus to me..."Maybe im not coming into this as blind as i thought"-- Hmm...So here i am, in the coldest section of the club, with these oversized Versace's i spent waaay too much on for them NOT to fit..and a Young Rich T-Shirt.. Unwrapping the clear, sticky packaging from around a Wine Black N' Mild from which i was going to smoke until the butterflies in my stomach choked and died.. My team surrounding me, laughing, joking, unaware of the hidden battle raging inside of me , prompting me to run toward the bathrooom and paint every stall with bright, foul smelling grafiti..VOMIT.. ugh.. Why am i so nervous..well..this is it..this is THE show before the BIG show..this is the Road 2 Summerjam..nd im knee deep in it..My label pushing me to become a marquee name lead me into a competition with the likes of the many in Fayetteville, NC with enough funding, and talent, to embark themselves on a mission to the BIG stage in July.. SUMMERJAM. Where the best of the best go at it like gladiators for a record deal and bragging right in front of the thousands who actually give any kind of damn about who, or what goes on here in hip-hop...As i hear my name called on the loudspeaker, i know its my turn..."And now coming to the stage , D.P. !!!
